Zhige, the full name of Shenzhen Zhige Technology Co., Ltd., was established in 2011 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Zhige Electric's brand logo is ZECO. Zhige is a manufacturer and service provider of private cinema equipment, smart home appliances and household cleaning solutions. ----From Baidu Encyclopedia.

There are several projectors that are sold by Zhige's subsidiary: CX3, CX5, CX5S, CX6, ES50, ES70, ES80, and curtain products and related projection accessories.

Judging from the naming and classification of the official website, CX tends to be home-based and ES is more commercial. Today we evaluate the ES50 is an entry-level business model, and it is the lowest price of Zhige projector products (Official guide price: 1988).

Interpretation of several key parameters:

1. Monolithic DLP technology: The benefits of DLP technology are high contrast and sharp imaging. However, there is a rainbow effect. As for the problem of ES50 color wheel speed, I have not found any relevant data on the sales page of the official website and the official store. In actual experience, the rainbow effect is very obvious. (I have a post about a detailed comparison of DLP and 3LCD technology.)

2, resolution: 800600, supports up to 1600,200 input. In these eras where 4K is slowly becoming popular. This resolution can only be said to be enough commercial, home is a little lacking.

3, nominal brightness: 3200 lumens. This is also the main parameter of the ES50. In this price range, it is indeed the leader. Many factory brands say there is a big gap between brightness and actual brightness. Since it is the main parameter of ES50, this will become a key object in the following tests.

4, contrast. 3000:1. The contrast of similar products is almost tens of thousands.

5, zoom ratio and the farthest projection distance: 1.5X, 1.2-10m. The point of view is intuitive: 1.2 meters is the projection size of 30 inches, 2.4 meters is 60 inches, 3.2 meters is 80 inches, 4 meters is 100 inches, 6 meters is 150 inches, 10 meters is 250 inches, and 12 meters is 300 inches. So for a user with a small room size who wants to project a large area (mostly home users), the 1.5X magnification is obviously not enough.

6. Interface: VGA in, Video in, S-Video in, RS232C. VGA and HDMI are used in general households. This product only provides VGA interface. For users who want to connect HD boxes, game consoles, CD players and other devices, they can only buy the VGA to HDMI cable. However, for a commercial product, most notebooks do not provide a VGA interface. So personally feel that providing an HDMI interface is still very necessary.

To sum up: This is indeed a commercial product, and will not comment on the "home theater" statement in the SMZDM public beta promotion and in some authorized stores. As for his commercial performance, it will be mentioned in detail in the next evaluation.

Second, out of the box, appearance, accessories introduction.

This is just like packing boxes, nothing to say.

Front, Texas Instruments DLP logo, infrared remote control receiver, lens. Attach a lens cap, but the buckle is loose.

On the back of the box, in addition to the interfaces mentioned above, there is an infrared receiver to facilitate the smooth reception of remote control signals from different locations. The opening on the edge just thought it was a bell. In actual use, it was found that the machine did not have a sound, and it was verified in subsequent disassembly.

The remote control has a good feel and texture. According to the instructions, the remote control is shared by many machines, so some keys are not valid for the ES50.

Summary: Personally feel that at this price point, the machine workmanship is good. Due to the limited functionality, the accessories are scattered so few pieces. Fortunately, materials are acceptable.

Third, product performance evaluation.

Because the ES50's biggest selling point is the high brightness of 3200 lumens, and the phenomenon of disorderly labeling in this area is serious, so the performance of this product focuses on testing brightness and contrast. Regarding color, because there is no relevant equipment, it will not be evaluated. Some screen shots, we just look at the effect of it.

Test items: brightness test, contrast test, color (subjective feeling), power test, noise (subjective feelings).

Brightness test:

Brightness and contrast are measured using ANSI standards. Measurement tools rely primarily on the illuminance meter.

↑ In accordance with ANSI standards, the distance of the projector is first controlled at 2.4m, and the projected area is 60 inches (1.21m0, 91m). The brightness and contrast of the projector are adjusted to an optimized state. Even in the above figure, 0% grayscale and 5% grayscale, 95% grayscale and 100% grayscale are just in the critical state of differentiation. (The following test pictures were taken in this state)

↑ Finally calculated the average of 9 points. The data obtained by multiplying the projected area is the ANSI lumen value of the projector.

The measured data: Optimized Brightness (866+923+908+867+869+892+728+784+784)/91.1m2=933 lumens .

The highest brightness (1341+1447+1433+1380+1367+1390+1130+1226+1257)/91.1m2=1463 lumens .

The peak brightness of 15101.1m2 = 1661 lumens .

※Optimum brightness is 8th-order grayscale. The average illumination area is measured at 9 points in the critical state. The highest brightness is the highest brightness of the projector, the highest 9-point average illumination area under the highest contrast, and the peak brightness is the highest single-point illumination area.

Visible ES50 actual brightness and nominal brightness there is still a certain gap.

Contrast test:

FOFO Contrast: 869/0.6 = 1448:1

※The ANSI contrast ratio is the ratio of the center luminance of the 8 white areas and the 8 black areas measured above. The FOFO contrast ratio is the ratio of the illuminance of the full white screen to the illuminance of the full black screen.

ANSI contrast is measured separately for each part of the picture. This data is more meaningful for movie and picture playback. FOFO contrast is measured locally, and this data is more useful for some big light than the picture, such as word, excel, etc. that can be used in office.

※Special instructions: 1. Because the test equipment belongs to the civilian version, the test environment cannot meet the relevant standards. There must be errors in the above data, especially ANSI contrast. Because there are white screens in the ANSI contrast screen, there are various reflections in the home environment, so the measurement of the black screen must have an effect. So the above data is for reference only. 2, in order to try to be objective, the above evaluation pictures are taken using RAW, LR to JPG, the parameters are: ISO200 f5.6 automatic metering mode. 3, the above tests are directly cast white wall effect, of course, this does not affect the brightness and contrast test data, but the actual sense may be different.

Power test: I'm sorry, I put the power test into the final test, only to find a problem with the power meter I bought when I measured it. A 40W lamp measured more than 800 W, and the projector data was directly overrun. And if you change the goods, you may exceed the submission date. So this piece of data is missing.

This is the pit power meter.

There is also a very important parameter - noise , because there is no noise meter, can not get objective data, can only say their own subjective feelings, because my projector is located in the back of my head, the distance is insufficient 1m, the fan noise affects the viewing effect to a certain extent. However, if you are in a wider environment or if the projector is ceiling-mounted, it's still acceptable if you are far away from people.

Summary: The actual brightness and contrast both have a drop from the nominal, but in actual use, the individual feels that the ES50 is still in line with his price in terms of brightness, color performance, and color transition.

Fourth, product materials, internal work introduction (dismantling).

And to say sorry, this is not a qualified disassemble introduction, because after unpacking, I discovered that the complexity of the internal structure far exceeds my expectations. I can continue to use my projector after the end of the test, so only Open the panel and take some simple photos.

The most regrettable thing is that it is impossible to verify whether the official lens is an optical glass lens.

The helium bulb is indeed an OSRAM high pressure mercury lamp introduced by the official website.

There are a total of two NUB-MAT fans on the side of the unit (the official website is known as Japan's Miho fan, and it is not well known about the hardware brand, but it looks like it works). There should be 4 smaller ones on the lower side, and the official website is called a total of 6 groups.

Let's take a brief look at it. The line is neatly regulated and the materials used look solid.

Here I have to say: Because the ES50 can not find the disassemble experience online, so the order must be their own way of thinking, from the beginning of the dismantling, I went the wrong way, the bottom of the 4 screws and the rear 2 screws removed , it smoothly into the thought of the panel to remove the control keys, demolition of 1 hour, there is a buckle has been demolition can not be opened, the last snapped off can not be opened to find everything is wrong, and then tilted Under another panel, it opened smoothly and found that there were several screws below the panel. After unscrewing, the control panel could be lifted smoothly. Tragedy.

So if you want to change the bulb, just remove the 4 screws on the underside of the machine and push the upper panel forward, and you can just pull out the bulb.

After 1 hour, I lost patience and used a bit of brute force. The machine became like this. Heartache.

Before submitting the report to add: Suddenly thought, since there is a quick change of light bulb design, then there should be a description method on the manual, back to the past and then turn the next manual, really! Hey! tragedy!

Fifth, the actual use scene real shot map.

As a projector for positioning business, first simulate the teaching, work environment, and see the performance of the projector under the common OFFIC software.

Environment Introduction: Projection area is about 100 inches, using a computer VGA connection input, input resolution 1024768, using the projector default "computer" mode.

↑ Movie video test (60-inch screen). It may be a little problem to find out the focus after shooting. The exposure is also excessive and the human eye tolerance is not comparable to the camera. The real effect is better than video.


Summary: Although the brightness does not reach the nominal 3200 lumens, in actual use, the ES50 can meet the general conditions of teaching, office use. Even in the daytime environment, the fonts can be clearly presented and the resolution of 800600 is sufficient. But as a home, perhaps the importance of resolution can be compared with brightness. Rough quality, even if you cast 100 inches, can not bring much shock.

Sixth, my collocation plan.

The solution is very simple, some of the existing equipment is temporarily built, glory cube input (HDMI to VGA), Edifier audio output (AUX input, output). Because the room is small, in order to get the maximum projection screen, the projector is placed on the bayonet window directly opposite the screen, the cube does not have Bluetooth, so the magic number can only be followed by the bay window.

Midway also used the PS3 to test the next 3D effect, probably because the ES50 supports the highest input resolution of 1600,800, when playing Blu-ray disc "3D meat futon" directly Huaping, lost the signal.

The entire package of 3,000 yuan is also a bit of a cinema-like experience. Poor, play poor and happy. Orthodox programs and other daughters go to school and slowly set up.

This is probably the case. Please ignore the messy power cords.

Seventh, summary.

Advantages: 1, although the test brightness does not reach the nominal brightness, but believe that even if only 1500 lumens, in this price, there is still a high degree of competitiveness.

2, the use of materials, workmanship at this price is really good. There is no feeling of low-end looseness.

Inadequate: 1, the interface is a big problem, no DP can accept, no HDMI can not justify, even if it locates business, but now notebook HDMI interface should be more widely equipped, let alone other high-definition devices.

2. Most projectors are used for dark scenes. If the remote controller can be equipped with a backlight, I believe it will be more humanized.

3, the resolution, this can not be considered shortcomings, positioning so, it can indeed meet the teaching, office purposes. But you can't justify it as a home projector.

4, the fan sounds slightly larger, even more than the XPS 13!

Finally said: This is a qualified commercial product. If your company has just started, the purchase budget is limited, or you are engaged in training for the purpose of teaching in a small classroom, this machine can meet your requirements, and the price is good. However, if you consider buying an economical and affordable home, and usually put movies and television, I believe you can find a more suitable product than this.
