Lumileds Introduces Multi-Grain Transmitter Breaking Performance Record for Outdoor Fixtures

Lumileds today announced the introduction of the multi-die emitter LUXEON MX, which provides industry-leading performance and luminous flux for outdoor and high-bay lighting applications. The transmitter has 1,200 lumens and 150 lm/W at 85 ° C *, and the lighting fixtures benefit from this, which also achieves a system efficiency of 120 lm / W (driven at 700 mA). “This is twice the luminous flux of a similar transmitter in a 120 lm/W system. By optimizing LEDs to increase efficiency, we achieved this leap in performance, with 12V devices driving up to 1.5A,” said SethDanielson, product manager at LUXEON MX.

With these developments, Lumileds has maximized the performance and life of the transmitter. Most importantly, LUXEON MX enables luminaire manufacturers to meet the efficiency and quality requirements of the Design Lights Consortium (DLC) Premium V4.1 (700mA85°C). “By creating products that qualify for the DLC Qualified Product Catalog, cities and municipalities can better build LED street lighting projects, and at the same time, by using the most efficient transmitters, they can quickly reap the rewards of investing,” said Danielson. LUXEON MX multi-die transmitters are available in a variety of color temperatures (3000K to 6500K) and CRI (70, 80 and 90) in convenient 3V, 6V and 12V configurations. Applications include road lighting, street lighting, stadium lighting and high-bay lighting.
