Vishay Introduces Industry's First 75V Molded Tantalum Capacitor

Vishay Intertechnology has recently expanded its TANTAMOUNT® line of low-ESR TR3 and standard industrial-grade 293D series of solid surface-mount chip capacitors. This enhancement now allows B, C, D, E, V, and W form factor devices to operate at a higher voltage level of 75V. The Vishay Sprague series is the first molded tantalum capacitor in the industry to support a 50% rated voltage drop in +28V and +35V applications, making it ideal for high-performance systems. These capacitors are designed as a cost-effective solution for decoupling in 75V applications, as well as for +28V power supplies and +35V DC/DC conversion in sensor systems, industrial controls, aerospace equipment, and communication base stations. They offer improved reliability and performance, especially in demanding environments where stability is critical. The TR3 series delivers a high ripple current capacity of up to 2.50A, while the 293D and TR3 capacitors come in six and seven different molded form factors, respectively. Both series are available with standard RoHS-compliant 100% tin terminals, and Sn/Pb alloy terminals can be requested upon demand.
