Credit Suisse expects Apple to push 4-inch iPhone 6c

Credit Suisse analyst Kulbinder Karcha and his team believe that Apple may be preparing to launch a low-end iPhone. This product will use a 4-inch display similar to the iPhone 5c.

Such predictions are contrary to popular beliefs. Few people think that Apple will re-launch a small-sized iPhone.

However, this forecast is consistent with KGI Securities analyst Guo Mingchi. The latter released a report a few days ago, saying that Apple may plan to launch a new 4-inch mobile phone and upgrade it based on the iPhone 5s.

Ghacha and his team have been holding this view for the past three months. On September 10, Jiacha quoted an Asian supply chain source in a report saying, "In addition to the short-term trend, we also found that the supply chain currently believes that Apple may restart production of the 4-inch iPhone. This will make iPhone shipments in 2016 are further improved based on our expectations."

On October 30, Jiacha once again talked about this point. Apple raised its capital expenditure forecast by $2 billion to $15 billion. The team at the checkpoint believes that this expected increase means that iOS equipment production will increase by 339 million units, which "may indicate that Apple is considering launching low-end iPhone products."

Today, Credit Suisse has released a similar report: "The low-end iPhone, why this time will be different... After the relative failure of the iPhone 5c, why can Apple now launch a smaller low-end iPhone? Even though we The small-size new iPhone has not yet been included in the expectations, but we believe that the 4-inch iPhone without Force Touch will be a new product that is clearly different from Apple's current products, which will give Apple's revenue and earnings per share. To help. If Apple launches this new iPhone in 2016, then we believe it will bring Apple's 2017 earnings per share to about $0.62, and help the iPhone's long-term shipments increase."

Credit Suisse analysts even refer to the new phone as the iPhone 6c: "We think Apple is more and more likely to launch the 4-inch iPhone 6c. We believe this will make iPhone shipments and revenues high. As expected, and long-term earnings per share increased by about 6% to 7%."

Apple usually launches new phones every September, and next year's new products may be iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple introduced the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s in 2013, so the iPhone 6c is likely to be launched with the iPhone 7. Although this may sound strange, Gacha believes that Apple will do the same. He believes that the iPhone 5c's previous pricing is too high, that is, 549 to 649 US dollars. If the price is between $400 and $500 at the time, the iPhone 5c will be more successful.

He said: "We believe that the new 4-inch device will help Apple's current product line. Apple may add or remove certain features in this 4-inch phone, such as more powerful camera, Force Touch and Touch ID, etc. In addition, the new 4-inch phone will make a big difference compared to the current 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch phones. In other words, we believe that a 4-inch phone with a price of $400 to $500 will be the current product. Line supplements and differentiation with flagship products to minimize the impact of each other."

The iPhone 5c has seen a significant decline in sales after its launch, but from a pricing perspective, the launch of a small iPhone will be a good complement.
