China's first electric vehicle evaluation protocol officially released

Electric cars are increasingly entering the homes of ordinary people. For most consumers, electric cars are still new things. How can we guide enterprises to produce more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly electric vehicles?

On May 16, the press conference on “EV-TEST Management Rules” was held in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. EV-TEST, the first domestic electric vehicle evaluation procedure, was officially released yesterday. Wu Zhixin, deputy director of the China Automotive Research Center, Zhou Hua, director of the National Car Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, and representatives from more than 20 electric vehicle companies at home and abroad attended the conference.

Electric cars are increasingly entering the homes of ordinary people. For the majority of consumers, electric cars are still new things. How do we guide enterprises to produce more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly pure electric vehicles? How to popularize green consumption and facilitate consumer selection among various models? Based on a thorough investigation and study and drawing on domestic and international experience, the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (hereinafter referred to as the China Automobile Center) has developed the EV-TEST (combined with the standard, technology, and socio-economic development level of China's electric vehicles). EV-TEST management rules have been issued for technical specifications of electric vehicles.

Zhang Wei, EV-TEST project manager, introduced the EV-TEST test method and scoring method at the meeting. EV-TEST focused on the consumer's focus, from the five aspects of “continuing mileage, power consumption, charging, safety, and power”, to carry out a comprehensive evaluation of “standard rigorous, standardized testing, and independent and fair” for electric vehicles. The visually quantified star and individual performance scores are given in the form of a visual understanding of electric vehicles.

90 points or more, 5 stars;

80-90 points, 4 stars;

70-80 points, 3 stars;

60-70 points, 2 stars;

60 points or less, 1 star.

The assessment vehicles are divided into mini-cars (less than 4 meters passenger cars) and conventional trains (all other models except mini-cars).

In terms of the mileage, power consumption, charging, safety and power of the evaluation project, there are many small items under each major item. For example, the driving range is divided into normal temperature, high temperature, and low temperature driving range. Charging is divided into AC compatibility, exchange 100 kilometers charging time, charging anti-interference, DC charging and so on.

There are more than 1,000 models on the electric car announcement catalogue, and the project team does not measure every model. Fang Maodong, chief engineer of the China National Automobile Industry Center, said: "The mass production models are closely related to the people's lives. Some production models are small in number and are only sold locally in small areas and are not representative. EV-TEST will be targeted at the entire country. In-house sales, and representative vehicles for evaluation, through evaluation, so that the people have a clearer understanding of electric vehicles, at the time of purchase.

At the press conference, Director Wu Zhixin announced the official implementation of the EV-TEST project. Wu Zhixin stated that EV-TEST is a comprehensive organization of the industry strength of China National Automobile Industry Center. It was launched on the basis of a large number of early tests and analysis and repeated discussions among industry experts. It aims to adopt advanced comprehensive evaluation methods and high-standard evaluation systems to lead Green consumption promotes technological progress, promotes the green development and upgrade of electric vehicles, and enhances the overall level of industrial development.

In the formulation process, EV-TEST has been recognized and supported by domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers. According to the general requirements of fairness, openness, and impartiality, the assessment combines relevant domestic and foreign standards and advanced testing methods to establish a strict, scientific, and authoritative test evaluation system. With the development concept of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing, China Automobile Center actively promotes the improvement of the evaluation system for electric vehicles.

Director Zhou Hua introduced the EV-TEST operation management rules. The SAIC Center has established the China New Energy Vehicle Evaluation and Management Center (C-NEVAC), which is responsible for the organization and implementation of EV-TEST, including the determination of annual plans and financial budgets, the selection of models for evaluation, the review of evaluation results, and the handling of disputes and difficult issues. Negotiate temporary matters, etc.

After this press conference, the evaluation work was formally launched, and the first evaluation results are planned to be released in the second half of this year. EV-TEST strives to guide green consumption, share evaluation results, and continuously promote innovation with the aim of public welfare output and serving the public. It strives to build a well-known automobile performance comprehensive testing brand in China and even the world!
