In view of the important position of the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets in the Wi-Fi industry, the Wi-Fi Alliance has made promotion in China a priority. Edgar Figueroa said: At present, more than half of the Wi-Fi n certification qualifications come from companies in the Asia-Pacific region. Eight Chinese companies including Huawei, H3C, and TP Link have completed 74 Wi-Fi CERTIFIED n product certifications. In addition, two Chinese test laboratories are authorized to provide Wi-Fi CERTIFIED n certification testing and most other project services.

According to statistics from IN-STAT, a research institute, there will be 285,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in China in 2010, and 28 million wifi phones will be listed in a single year. It is estimated that by 2013, the number of Wi-Fi mobile phone products on the market will reach 96.7 million units in a single year.
