1 Introduction

Paper corners are used to reinforce the corners of the packaging carton, see Figure 1. The paper corner protector is made of bobbin paper and cow card paper by a set of corner protector presses. The two ends are smooth and flat, without obvious burrs, and are perpendicular to each other. Paper corner protectors are widely used in the packaging and transportation of electronic appliances, high-tech products, and furniture. Paper corner protector is also called paper channel steel, paper wrap angle, corner protector, corner protector, paper angle iron, paper corner strip, corner protector, edge board, angle paper, paper angle steel. Paper corners can be used in conjunction with stretch film, packing tape, paper fumigation-free trays, etc., to achieve medium-heavy full-paper natural degradation and environmentally friendly packaging. Paper corner packaging is easy and convenient to operate, and the pressure-resistant stacking is strong and load-bearing. It is an advanced packaging technology in the international logistics industry.

The CNC high-speed corner protector of a packaging machinery equipment manufacturer customer in Shanghai is used for high-speed fixed-length cutting of various lengths of corner protector materials. The paper corner cutting method is different from the flying shear method and belongs to the chase shear control. The servo motor moves back and forth, and the feed speed is the same in the synchronous area, complete the cutting, and quickly return in the reverse direction. The customer's equipment was originally controlled by ordinary PLC, and it was unable to stably realize the production requirements of the cutting and fixed-length cutting control. The main problem was that the synchronization accuracy was poor during high-speed operation. Based on the equipment requirements, Delta provides the DVP-20PM00D motion control PLC electronic cam solution. After practical application, it fully meets the customer's expected requirements.

2 Delta DVP-20PM00D solution

The high-speed CNC angle protector is composed of frame, measuring mechanism, cutter mechanism, belt drive and electric control system, as shown in Figure 2.

2.1 Introduction to Motion Control PLC

Delta DVP-20PM00D is a programmable controller with special functions for motion control. The biggest feature of DVP-20PM00D is that the PLC host directly provides the electronic cam function, or DVP-20PM00D is a PLC with built-in electronic cam function, so some places directly call DVP-20PM00D as the Delta 20PM motion controller, as shown in Figure 3.

20PM has two 500KHz inputs and outputs. In the electronic cam function, the X axis is defined as the slave axis, and the encoder input axis is the master axis. After the CAM Table is defined, the slave axis follows the master axis movement according to the defined curve. Adopt high-speed dual-CPU structure and use independent CPU to process motion control algorithm, which can well realize various motion trajectory control, logic action control, linear / circular interpolation control, etc. The CNC high-speed angle protector uses 20PM motion The electronic cam function of the controller solves the above-mentioned problems such as unequal length during high-speed cutting. 2.2 Analysis of high-speed shearing solution


Ordinary PLCs generally use high-speed counting, and input to the built-in high-speed input point of the PLC through an encoder. The high-speed input code is connected to a fixed-length pressure wheel to collect the linear velocity. The collected pulse frequency is multiplied by a certain speed ratio, and then used as an output high-speed pulse drive Servo, the speed ratio of the operating speed and the linear speed of the protective angle is simply synchronized, and the value of the encoder is compared with the value of the preset length. When the preset value is reached, such as 650PULSE, an interrupt is generated to make the cutter move. In this method, the cutter action is always lagging, which is affected by line speed, PLC operation, poor synchronization accuracy, large amount of calculation, and long CPU processing time, so there will be problems such as uneven fixed length, which seriously affects the quality of the finished product. . In the case of low speed (about 10 meters), it can basically meet the requirements, but for speeds exceeding 20 meters, the length will be different, and the error will be more than 2 millimeters.

20PM has a built-in electronic cam function and uses an independent motion processing chip. Through hardware, it can process the motion relationship between the master and slave axes in real time. The 2-axis synchronization control time is less than 0.5ms, thereby ensuring the position and position between the master and slave axes at high speeds. Speed ​​relationship, to solve the problem of different high-speed time lengths, reaching the production speed of 50 meters of the customer equipment limit, the error is basically within 0.1MM. The electronic cam software setting of the high-speed shearing solution based on 20PM is shown in Figure 4. The CAM (numerical control programming) diagram of the chase shear control is shown. There are some changes from the CAM diagram of the flying shear control. Observe the speed relationship diagram of the CAM. The motion mechanism repeatedly runs in the synchronization area and the material feeding speed is consistent. Go back, and then the material feeding speed is the same in the synchronization area again. Encoder pulse input and PLC pulse output correspond to each other exactly according to the track, without scanning through PLC program. Therefore, it overcomes the problems of fixed length error at high speed in the past and frequent overshoot of the motor.

3 Conclusion

Through the successful application of 20PM in high-speed corner protection machine cutting equipment, it can be extended to other similar shearing control occasions, such as beverage filling, the action is the same as the shearing action, except that the mechanism is changed from a knife to an injection port. By changing different control curves, this function can also be widely used in various high-demand motion control, such as continuous filling action of electronic cam spinning machine, packaging machinery in textile machinery, and cross-cut heat sealing of vertical packaging. The CAM (numerical control programming) function of 20PM is used in motion, spring reduction processing in metal processing, and shear bending.
