Developing a new generation of information technology industry

On November 30, it was learned that a workshop on developing a new generation of information technology industry and expanding domestic demand, organized by the Department of Policy and Regulation of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and organized by the Telecommunication Research Institute, was held in Beijing. Liu Lihua, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, attended the seminar and gave a keynote speech. Liu Lihua pointed out that we must conscientiously study and understand the important spirit of the Party's 18th National Congress on expanding domestic demand and developing a modern IT industry system, and on the basis of accelerating the transformation of the economic development model, in-depth study of the role and channels of information consumption and investment in expanding domestic demand. Together with the mechanism, we will explore the strategic countermeasures for accelerating the development of the modern IT industry system, so that economic development will rely more on domestic demand, especially consumer demand, and rely more on modern service industries and strategic emerging industries.

Liu Lihua emphasized that the development of a new generation of information technology industry and the initiation of broadband-based information consumption and investment are one of the strategic choices for many countries and regions in search of new economic growth points. China must fully recognize the huge market potential for the development of a new generation of information technology industry, and take the development of a new generation of information technology industry as an important strategic basis for expanding domestic demand and optimizing the industrial structure in the new era, and accurately grasp the new development of the new generation of information technology industry.
