Dongguan City will transform 22100 street lights into LED street lights from December this year to December next year. Within three years, Dongguan City strives to complete the LED lighting renovation of the city's street lamps.

20,000 street lights change face LED in one year
The relevant person in charge of the Provincial Science and Technology Department said at the meeting that on the basis of the existing LED street lamp pilot project, Guangdong Province plans to start the implementation of the demonstration project of industrialization of thousands of miles of high-power LED street lamps in February and March next year, in Guangzhou and Dongguan. , Foshan, Zhongshan and other cities to build a total mileage of 1,500 kilometers, about 100,000 miles of LED streetlight demonstration and promotion projects, and actively strive to be included in the national investment plan. The construction time of the project is expected to be one year. The person in charge also said that it is necessary to seize the new round of opportunities to increase investment and expand domestic demand to promote steady and rapid economic development, and organize the implementation of green lighting projects.
Deputy Mayor Liang Guoying said that Dongguan City plans to implement LED streetlight renovation project from December this year to December next year, replacing 22100 high-pressure sodium lamps with LED street lamps. For the purchase of street lamps, the government subsidies 30%, and the other 70% are borne by the construction entity. I hope that the town street will seize the opportunity and plan for the next year. Fully replaced LED street light, annual electricity saving fee exceeds 1 billion
It is reported that Dongguan City has previously implemented the LED street lamp application promotion project, taking the urban Dongjiang Avenue as the LED street lamp test section, and Shilong Town and Shipai Town as the LED street lamp transformation pilot town. So far, more than 5,200 sets of street lamps have been reconstructed in Dongguan. By the end of the year, the number of LED street lights in Dongguan will reach 8,700. Test results show that LED street lamps save more than 60% of electricity than high-pressure sodium lamps, which will greatly reduce the electricity consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP in the city this year.
To this end, Dongguan City has specifically conducted on-the-spot investigation and accounting for the cost of electricity after replacing the original high-pressure sodium lamp with LED street lamps. Taking Shipai Town as an example, the annual electricity cost of the original town and village roads is about 6.5 million yuan, and the unit price of electricity is 0.825 yuan. According to the 64% power saving rate after installing the LED street light, the average annual electricity cost of the town is about 4.2 million yuan. At the same time, there are data showing that the Shilong Town LED streetlight renovation project can save about 1.8 million kWh per year for the town, which is equivalent to saving 816 tons of standard coal, reducing sulfur dioxide emissions by about 24 tons, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 831 tons. If all the cities in Dongguan switch to LED street lights, the annual electricity bill will be more than one billion yuan.
It is reported that Dongguan City will strive to complete the LED lighting renovation of the city's street lamps within three years by means of pilot-first and gradual roll-out.
