NEC LCD technology will introduce a 7.0? A VGA (800 × 480 picture) white LED color LCD module NL8048BC19-02. NEC LCD technology will be exhibited at Display 2008 (4th International Flat Panel Display Exhibition) held on April 16-18, 2008 at the Tokyo International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The NL8048BC19-02 liquid crystal panel adopts an amorphous silicon Si-TFT method. The brightness is standard 400 cd/m2 and the contrast is 1000:1. The reaction rate is standard 18ms. The field of view is 160 degrees in both vertical and horizontal directions. The pixels are arranged in an RGB vertical strip mode, and the pixel spacing is 0.1905 mm in both the horizontal and vertical directions. The display color is 16.77 million colors or 260,000 colors.
The NL8048BC19-02 has a power supply voltage of 3.3V and consumes 3.4W. The operating temperature range is -20 to +70 °C. The outer dimensions are 170mm x 111mm x 9mm and the weight is 165g. Sample shipments are currently available and the sample price is 30,000 yen. It is estimated that 50,000 units will be supplied in the next year.
In addition, a 6.5-inch XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) color LCD module NL10276BC13-01 with white LED backlights will also be available. The brightness is 500 cd/m2 and the contrast is 500:1. The reaction rate is standard 25 ms. Sample shipments are currently available and the sample price is 45,000 yen. Mass production will begin in mid-May 2008. It is expected to sell 30,000 units in the next year.
