Qualcomm Raises Litigation: Accusing Apple of Disclosing Sensitive Information to Intel

According to a report by Global.com on November 3, Engadget reported that Bloomberg once again filed a new lawsuit against Apple, claiming that Apple breached the contract and disclosed sensitive information to Intel. A few days ago, a report just announced that Apple designed its own mobile device independently and did not rely on Qualcomm's technical support. But in the past few days, chip maker Qualcomm filed a lawsuit against Apple. According to a report from Bloomberg News, Qualcomm is suing Apple Inc. for breaching the contract, claiming that Apple did not comply with the terms of the software license and shared proprietary information with Intel. The new lawsuit alleges that Apple does not allow Qualcomm to review Apple’s processing of proprietary software from chip makers, but that is the right set out in the current contract. In addition, Qualcomm stated that Apple asked Qualcomm to provide proprietary information and to include information from a competitor engineer (such as Intel) in an e-mail. Qualcomm also said that an Apple engineer working with a competitor (Intel) asked for confidential information about data download technology. Loss of Apple’s business may reduce Qualcomm’s revenue by 7.5%. If Apple decides to use other competitors’ chipsets in its upcoming iOS device, Qualcomm will find it difficult to dismiss the lawsuit as a no-return option. Its purpose is to compensate for future potential losses. (Internship Compilation: Tian Yan reviewer: Li Zongze)
